Based in California, Falcon motorcycles are doing something slightly different on the US bike scene. They don't just restore classic British bikes. And they don't just build customs. They do something in between, that fuses the best of both. Salvaging original parts from those iconic names of the golden age of British biking… marques such as Norton, Triumph, Ariel and Vincent… they work their alchemy to produce something completely unique, yet distinctly recognisable about each machine. A Norton still looks like a Norton, somehow, but like no Norton you've ever seen before. Something beyond. Ancient, yet at the same time modern too. Timeless. But still with Norton (or Matchless, or BSA) DNA.
Purists may blanche at this approach but Falcon say the only salvage parts from forgotten skeletons left to rust, and derelict engines, and they would NEVER dismember a functioning classic machine. But I think there is some real magic in what they do.
Find out more on their website. And if you're in the media, press inquiries are handle but the impressively monikered Amaryllis Knight – which has got to be my favourite name since Winston Groovy. Or Randy Pope. Sorry to go off on a tangent… I feel a 'great names' post coming on.
